Transfer Credit

At Woodmont College our goal is to help our students succeed and complete their degrees in the most efficient way. A student can transfer up to 70% of the required credits for an undergraduate degree at Woodmont College. Students may transfer credits from other institutions or via proficiency examinations. Transfer credit can satisfy major, general education, or elective requirements.

General Transfer Credit Policies

For approved transfer credit to be awarded, students must request an official transcript from the transferring institution, that includes all of the following information:

To maintain the academic integrity of the degree, Woodmont College may request course descriptions and syllabi from the student in order to verify that the requested transfer credit is appropriate for transfer. If not included in the transcript, Woodmont College also may ask for the credit hour calculation.

Computer programing and technology courses can be transferred if they were completed within five years of student’s attendance at Woodmont College.

U.S. Based Institution Transfer Credits

Students transferring credits from a US based educational institution must submit a transcript originating from an institution accredited by an association recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Judaic Studies courses may be transferred from faith-based institutions such as Yeshivot and seminaries (see Faith-based Program Credit Transfer). 

Credit Recommendation Services

Credit may be transferred from courses that have been recommended for college credit through college recommendation bodies such as the American Council on Education (ACE) and National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS). Faith-based (Yeshiva and Seminary) Program Credit Transfer

Woodmont College’s extensive familiarity with Jewish faith-based programs provides the opportunity for students to transfer Judaic Studies credits ONLY from faith-based programs. These faith-based programs maintain a rigorous schedule of study, where students often learn for 12 hours daily. 

Credits may be transferred in the area of: Language, Hebrew literature, Bible, Talmud, law, history, philosophy, ethics, religion.

International Transfer Credits

For Students requesting a transcript from an international school: Students are encouraged to purchase a third-party, course-by-course international transcript translation and evaluation service.

For transcripts coming from secular institutions in Israel or from religious institutions that offer secular courses, Woodmont College accepts credits from those Israeli Institutions that are regionally or nationally accredited as recognized by the IEE evaluators. In such cases,, based on IEE’s evaluation, Woodmont College will accept both religious and non-religious credits from said institutions.

Woodmont College accepts transfer credits from the Internationally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. Only credits from Higher Level (HL) courses are accepted. To see the course equivalencies, view the IB Diploma Program Course Equivalent Chart below:

Second Bachelor's Degree Requirements

  • Applicants must have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) from all previous institutions attended. Exceptions may be granted on an individual basis.
  • Second bachelor’s students must complete a minimum of 30 new credits at Woodmont College as part of their second degree. 
  • Students must complete at least 51% of their new major in residence at Woodmont College.
  • Upper Level courses must be taken at Woodmont
  • Students must transfer or complete all course requirements for the degree which includes the specific general education courses as well as all the major courses. 
  • Students must complete the Woodmont Foundations course.

Procedure for Transferring Credits

Students transferring credits from institutions of higher education must order an official transcript to be submitted directly from the institution to the Registrar’s office. Official transcripts

  • must be signed or stamped with the school seal
  • contain the student’s FULL name 
  • contain an additional identifying piece of information such as an address, last four digits of a social security number, or full date of birth.
 
In what formats can official transcripts be sent?
  1. Mailed via postal service in a sealed envelope with a signature or stamp over the seal, to the Woodmont office in Florida: Woodmont College, 16375 NE 18th Ave. Suite 304, North Miami Beach, FL 33162
  2. Electronically transmitted via secured services such as Parchment and Student Clearinghouse. (These transcripts are considered signed by virtue of being sent via these secure services.). Students should ask for the transcript to be sent to transcripts@woodmontcollege.edu.
  3. Seminaries and Yeshivas in Israel may email the transcript in a password protected document to transcripts@woodmontcollege.edu. They should send the password in a separate email. This is for institutions that are overseas.
 

Transfer of Woodmont College Credits

The transferability of Woodmont College credits is solely at the discretion of the receiving institution. It is each student’s responsibility to confirm whether credits will be accepted by another institution.
